    相比近年來有長足進展的生物樣品純化和晶體X射線衍射技術,生物大分子晶體的培養依然是一個試驗探索的過程,極大程度地依賴于經驗并帶有較大的盲目性。 蛋白結晶所需的各種成分,如沉淀劑、鹽、緩沖液體系、有機溶劑以及各種添加劑,構成一個龐大的多維集合。雖然現在市場上有一些商業化的晶體生長條件篩選盒,但它們只能構成一個一個獨立的小子集, 遠遠無法覆蓋非常復雜、巨大的蛋白結晶條件集合。

    博亞的BioXtal™結晶條件篩選盒是為蛋白晶體生長條件篩選而特別開發的一個晶體生長條件組合。 其成分組成是以大量發表和未發表的結晶統計數據為基礎發展而成。它既包含離散矩陣篩選模式也包括系統性篩選模式,既含*效的結晶條件也含許多其它結晶條件篩選盒所未有的條件。 擴展了篩選范圍從而增大了發現結晶條件的幾率。

    該試劑盒有96個條件以適合96孔板自動化篩選設備,pH范圍涵蓋蛋白晶體最易生長范圍4.5-8.5。所使用的化學試劑來自國標*化學試劑公司(Fluka、Sigma-Aldrich等),并且每種溶液都經過0.22μ慮膜過慮滅菌處理。96個條件分別密封在螺旋蓋試管中,每管不少于10毫升,可隨便使用。

      在最近進行的大量蛋白晶體篩選測試研究中,博亞BioXtal™結晶條件篩選盒曾結晶出了超過50%的可結晶蛋白。被認為是高效結晶條件組合,是一個對現有商業化的結晶條件篩選盒的有力補充和發展。
